Revelation 21:8 |
But the
cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers,
idolators, and all liars shall have their part in the lake that burns with fire
and brimstone, which is the second death. |
1 Corinthians
6:9-11 |
Do
you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not
be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor
homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor
revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were
some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were
justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. |
Matt 7:21 |
“Not everyone
who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who
does the will of My Father in heaven. |
Galatians
5:18-21 |
But if you are
led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the works
of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness,
lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of
wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders,
drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as
I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not
inherit the kingdom of God. [Certainly the Spirit does not lead anyone to do these
things, so they are “under the law”.] |
Ephesians 5:5-6 |
For this you know,
that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has
any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. 6 Let no one deceive you
with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the
sons of disobedience. |
Colossians 3:5-7 |
Therefore put to death
your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil
desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these things the
wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, 7 in which you
yourselves once walked when you lived in them. |

Matt 12:37 |
For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be
condemned.” |
Romans 2:5-8 |
But in
accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up
for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous
judgment of God, 6 who “will render to each one according to his deeds”: 7
eternal life to those who by patient continuance in
doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; 8 but to those who are
self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation
and wrath |
2 Thes 1:8-9 |
in flaming fire
taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey
the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 These shall be punished with
everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of
His power, |
John 5:28-29 |
Do not marvel at
this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His
voice 29 and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of
life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation. |
compare John 8:34-35
with Romans 6:16 |
John 8:34 Jesus answered
them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.
35 And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Romans 6:16 Do you not know
that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves
whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to
righteousness? |
Rev 3:15-16 |
“I know your
works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.
16 So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit
you out of My mouth. |
Matt 25:13-30 |
The Parable of
the Talents 14 “For the
kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his
own servants and delivered his goods to them. 15 And to one he gave five
talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own
ability; and immediately he went on a journey. 16 Then he who had received
the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. 17
And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. 18 But he who had
received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money. 19 After a
long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them. 20 “So he who
had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord,
you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents
besides them.’ 21 His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful
servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many
things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ 22 He also who had received two
talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have
gained two more talents besides them.’ 23 His lord said to him, ‘Well done,
good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will
make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ 24 “Then he who
had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard
man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not
scattered seed. 25 And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the
ground. Look, there you have what is yours.’ 26 “But his lord
answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap
where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. 27 So you
ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would
have received back my own with interest. 28 So take the talent from him, and
give it to him who has ten talents. 29 ‘For to
everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from
him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. 30 And cast the
unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and
gnashing of teeth.’ |
Luke 16:19-29 |
The Rich Man and
Lazarus 19 “There was a
certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and [a]fared
sumptuously every day. 20 But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full
of sores, who was laid at his gate, 21 desiring to be fed with the crumbs
which fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover the
dogs came and licked his sores. 22 So it was that the beggar died, and was
carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was
buried. 23 And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw
Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 “Then he
cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he
may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented
in this flame.’ 25 But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you
received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is
comforted and you are tormented. 26 And besides all this, between us and you
there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you
cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.’ 27 “Then he
said, ‘I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s
house, 28 for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they
also come to this place of torment.’ 29 Abraham said to him, ‘They have Moses
and the prophets; let them hear them.’ |
